Balancing Your Checking Account

An easy way to keep track of your spending and to stay on top of your budget is to write every transaction you make in your checking account register. In balancing your checking account, you’ll want to compare the transactions on your checking account statement to what’s listed in your register. Be sure to include all outstanding checks, POS and ATM transactions and other withdrawals, as well as bank fees and service charges.
